"Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking."
Meryl Streep might not be impressed, but flowers are one of those constants in life. New flowers bloom every year, always more abundantly and better dressed than before. It’s about hope, about time passing regardless of whether we want it to or not. These photos, taken on Alumni Park at Pepperdine University, show a bit of the set up of bleachers for graduation. The beginning of the end. Simultaneously, they’re stunning.
The flower crowns that we are wearing in the spirit of spring remind us that there’s always new days and chances to get it right. It doesn’t matter how many gloomy days there are, or how many times you trip and fall over the same thing. The perfect weather will come back, and life is beautiful despite it all.
The horizon is endless and what lies beyond it… who knows for sure. We can only stare ahead and take life one step at time. With my high heels, pink cheeks, and red lips, I open myself to that blue abyss, that sunshine that kisses the ocean, but I don’t want to think about looking back when what’s ahead is too beautiful to miss and might only come just at this one perfect moment.
So, if you’re sitting there reading this, whatever transition you’re going through, I hope you keep your face towards the sunshine.
xoxo, Queenie and Mina
